The programme of the HK 2021 shows itself to be more open to new materials and process technologies from its scientific side and at the same time practical. On the first day, lectures on additive manufacturing, innovations in heat treatment processes and process diagnostics will be presented. In the afternoon, there will be a half-day symposium on green hydrogen in heat treatment and materials technology. On the second day, the focus is on industrial practice. In addition to heat treatment practice in hardening shops, with two basic lectures on the subject of component cleaning, there is another focus on steel production and processing. Another highlight of the second day is the lecture by Jan-Frederik Kremer from AiF FTK GmbH on innovation management in companies. The Aachener Ofenbau- und Thermoprozess-Kolloquium was organised for the first time on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Institute of Industrial Furnace Construction and Thermal Engineering (IOB) at RWTH Aachen University in May 2017 in Aachen. After another successful event in 2019, the colloquium is now to enter its third round. The Institute of Industrial Furnace Construction and Thermal Engineering is therefore organising the 3rd Aachen Furnace Construction and Thermal Process Colloquium on 7 and 8 October 2021.
